Palm Court - The RitzOne of the best things about afternoon tea is the chance to look inside hotels at which you'll never be able to afford to stay. A great idea! However, some of the hotels have dress codes, so check when phoning to book.

The food consists of scones with clotted cream and jam, or sandwiches and cakes - all served with a refreshing cup of English tea. For the best of these you may pay around £20 (yes, that's twenty pounds sterling), but if you want to be treated like royalty for a few hours, it's a small price to pay.
