Oliver's Twist
Fifteen, the Shoreditch-based restaurant, uses 15 trainees plucked from disadvantaged backgrounds
to cook the food. The 15 trainees rotate every six months to give more hopefuls the chance to impress.
Although there is a six month waiting list to get a table there for lunch and dinner - you should be able to get a reservation for breakfast.
Update: April 2003
The restaurant 'Fifteen' wins the LondonEats.com award for 'Recommended Restaurant for 2003'. Congratulations to Jamie and the staff! The full report on the LondonEats.com Restaurant Awards 2003.
Update: July 2003
Jamie is planning to open versions of his restaurant 'Fifteen' in Sydney and New York. The first series of Jamie's Kitchen has been very warmly received in Australia.
Update: September 2003
Jamie has just taken on the 2nd batch of trainees in the restaurant. We're not sure if this is being filmed for another TV Series - let's hope so!
Meanwhile, for those of you in foreign lands - you may have seen a new Jamie Oliver TV Series called Oliver's Twist. This show is in the same style as the Naked Chef programmes and is currently being shown daily in the US and Australia.. He has made 26 of these programmes where he has guests and friends helping him cook everything from a pickled onion, rocket and cheese sandwich, to shoulders of lamb on a building site BBQ.
Why not visit his old haunt River Café or perhaps the exclusive Monte’s where he still occasionally lends a hand.
For up to date information on progress, you can check out Jamie’s official diary or why not check out some of Jamie's new recipes.
