Overlooking the River Thames to the North and Putney Heath (the historic site for duels and highwaymen) and Richmond Park to the South, Putney is a pleasant suburb with obvious attractions. It has lots of green space (Roehampton Golf Course and Putney Common to the North and Putney Heath and Richmond Park to the South), good schools, easy access to the city and a diverse housing market.

Good transport links include tubes from Putney Bridge and East Putney (District line), and main line stations at Barnes and Putney High Street (to Waterloo). A map of the Putney area.

Putney High Street, the main commercial thoroughfare, has the usual chain stores, more specialist outlets, and a good range of bars, cafes and restaurants.
