We had a fabulous time at Efes2 last night.
The staff could not do enough for us so I had a brilliant time on my birthday.
Food was gorgeous with meat thats melts on the knife.
We danced, danced, danced till we dropped. Even had a go up with the belly dancer.
Live music and singer were so good we have booked up to go again for our Christmas party.
Will be 42 of us next time and we can't wait.

I also had a party at Efes 2 on 3rd October 2009, and I think we must have been sitting next to Lisa's table - re previous comment.
We all had a wonderful time, food was brilliant - the lamb was pink and succulent - just the way it should be, service so attentive, music and entertainment excellent albeit a bit loud at times. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be having a great time too, except for one big table of about 20 people near to us - they were making so many problems for the staff right from the minute they came into the restaurant, seemed to be complaining about everything and really making a nuisance of themselves. I heard them even complaining about the prices of drinks, these are all shown in the wine lists and as for her comment about service being added - what is the problem, most restaurants add a service charge to the overall bill. This group was obviously trying to be out on the cheap and cause problems.

Efes has a few small things they need to sort, but they still provide excellent value for money, where else in Central London can you get a 4 course menu with loads of meat cooked perfectly medium; live entertainment from 9pm until about 2:30pm for £22 per person! Compared to other places I have been for food and entertainment, eg Maroush, Cyprus Meze Bar; Efes 2 is still the best value.

Went to the Efes2 on the 3rd October with 21 friends and family celebrating my fathers birthday. The food was raw, one of our guests never had their dinner, we told a waiter they said it was on its way, 10 mins later still no meal for him told another waiter he found the dinner at the end of the table and gave it to the guest cold and half eaten. DISGUSTING. The meals wa £22.00 and the charged us with service charge £22.20. We should have been paid for eating the!*!*. Each drink ordered had a service charge added to it aswell as at the end of your bill an overall service charge was added on top. I complaint to the manager about the food, and service he gave me £40 discount for the raw food. I always used to go to the Efes 2 every year, but i will never go now it is not the same, waiters are rude, food was!*!* and the service was very poor. Its a rip off now its all about their profits. Think carefully before putting foot in that place

We went for our anniversary which was on a Monday night. We arrived to an empty restaurant. I wanted to leave but my husband said to give the food a try and, if good, we would return on a weekend. The toilet was dirty, unkept and smelt which made we wonder what the kitchen was like! The food arrived. The Houmus was tasteless and so was the rice. The only veg they could offer was a quarter of a grilled tomatoe and a chunk of uncooked cabbage which was their impression of iceberg lettuce. Because the lighting was poor, I thought I had a dollop of mash potatoe on my plate until I hit it with my fork. The only things I enjoyed eating were the olives and the chillis which came out of a jar. I left most of my food and waited for the waiter to ask if there was anything wrong. He did not ask and just took the plates away. We paid the bill and left, never to return again. There is a moral in this review and that is always read reviews before you go. I wish I had! Only go if it is the last restaurant in the country and you are very, very hungry and don't mind what you eat.

I can not believe that we all have the same stories. I went there with 8 friends of mine. The bill came.....340 pounds....We give the money to the guy......he came after 5 min saying that he counted the money and there is 80 missing..........hehehe we argue for a while but paid on the end.......before we give them the money......we count them more than 3 times.......
Avoid that place at any costs....

I booked a night out with my girlfriends for my birthday, when we arrive my name was not on the list, after a while we were shown to our tables. The food was ok and service ok, but the music was dated turkish music. The belly dancer was good but then could not be seen as she went round the tables. At the end of the evening we received the wrong bill, then a fight broke out that was quite disturbing at the end and the place cleared out at an abrubt ending at 2am.

What has happened to efes 2 ?i have been there on a number of occasions and this used to be a nice restaurant for entertainment and good food. What a shame.

On 17th of april 2008 we had sorted out a hen party for my best friend. We had 18 people turn up, i made arrangements and spoke to many people before the event was taking place, made sure about the money and had spoken to them about a stripper that was attending, they said it would be fine.

We had turned up and i had told the girls that it would be a good idea that all of us would pay up front for the fix meal, which they said was £21.50.
We had collected everyones money and then there was a service charge which i don't agree with. but we paid it anyway, so we had split the table in two groups and was ordering drinks. You really need to watch them as they are CONS and do add on drinks that you have not ordered and expect you to pay for it.
So during the evening the stripper was about to be coming and i had explained to MR ISMAIL that the stripper was coming and to bring him down stairs as he was running late! He said that the stripper was not allowed to come, i said that i made this arrangement with a MAN called ISMAIL which was him when he took the £100.00 deposit of me on the phone, then we had the stripper turn up which was not allowed to come in, after having an arguement for the last 15mins to let him in or not, the belly dancer turns up. He said that the stripper can come in but not take his pants off, he said that it was a restaurant, and a family place but yet he has a belly dancer that will have less clothes on then the stripper, he let him do his bit. ( can i just mention that the only people at the restaurant was us, a table of 4 and a table of another 4, no kids where there ) and yet everyone was taking pictures even the waiters and Mr Ismail even was having a good look?

The stripper did his best and did make the best out of a bad thing, then at the end of the evening, the bill came........ They did try it again, they wanted to charge service charge again on the drinks the girls that was there were all police offers and couldn't believe that they were trying to con them like this, they added drinks on top of everything that were not ordered. You must try and be very careful the whole attitude of that Mr ISMAIL man with the long hair, was rude, and not helpful.

The food was nice, and the music was ok, All of us that went made it a good evening, but the whole attitude of this person who was a manager was so very rude.

All i can say is if you are going to be there, don't believe what they say to you, as it is all lies, the food was nice, but its not worth the headache you get at the end of the night as they will try and do you?

Good luck.

DO NOT RECOMMEND you having parties there or CHECK UR BILLS very carefully!

I am Nadira, actress, have been living in London for 4 years. When it comes for fun, I am not too cheap person: I like spending good money for the good quality food, drink, fun and service.
But I hate being CHEATED and FOOLED !!!

I went to EFES-II on my brthd April 6, 2008 with my partner who's English, a writer & a politician, and my actor and journalists friends 9-10 people. I said to the manager I would pay for my guests as well, cuz it was my treat on my birthday & the price per person was £19.50 excluding drinks. So I bought 3 Champaign each £40 & 6 Wine. Then at the end when my partner asked the bill without letting me know, the manager-ISMAIL with long hair quite fiendish attitude with his sly smile, brought the bill £586 for 10people, without a RECEIPT, oh my God, the bill with just the price, not the list what we had , which restaurant does that??? The manager-ISMAIL knew my boyfriend wouldn't reject cuz of my birthday whatever the restaurant asks & he paid. I was very angry and still am!!! He openly cheated me on my birthday, he knew I couldn't make a fuss because of my guests, I was hiding the bill from them, when I said it wasn't a deal we discussed, he was rude & accused me being drunk woman, that I shoud shut up and be happy because I was not paying, but a man was paying my bill. And he said in front of my boyfriend: 'Oh this man is a real gentleman, and he loves you, he is paying for a lady, real English gentleman, you should be very happy that this man loves you', kept going on and on...lol...lol

Anyway, of course my boyfriend who loves me wouldn't reject and bargain the prices in front of his lady. And I couldn't make a fuss either in front of my friends I invited on my birthday and was my treat. Turkish man was taking an advantage of all these sircumstances, quite cleverly.

I wish I could sue them for their behaviour, but don't wanna have another head-ache, I will just leave it for their conscience.

I am very disappointed, angry and will NEVER go there again. If you want to go, you can go for the music and the dance if you like Turkish entertainment, but I will recommend you to deal with them in advance and really ask your bills, not just the price list !!!

On the whole I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I am a huge fan of Turkish cuisine but there were a number of reasons why I can't in all honesty recommend it.

i) The food took too long to arrive (after repeated attempts to accelerate proceeding from our party). We sat down to dinner around 7.30pm and the main course arrived just after 10pm. We were unable to wait until dessert since The London Underground closes around midnight.

ii) I believe that the Set Menu does not present good value and for a vegetarian, the starter and main were a real let down (so much so that I was unable to eat the vegetarian main even though I was pretty peckish by the time it finally surfaced).

The and hot meze had little to no merit (Veg. Cold Meze: A few dips and a small piece of watermelon mushed up on a plate including Tarama which the last time I heard was not vegetarian though the waiting staff were too harried to pay it much attention, as nice as they were. Hot Meze: One salty, cheese overly fried parcel. Both accompanied by luke warm pitta bread).

The non-veg equivalent for the hot meze including the same salty cheese parcel and a few cubes of liver which my wife didn't appear greatly enamoured with.

Vegetarian Main: Two small scoops of plain rice, a hunk of ice berg lettuce on the side, two grilled onion slices, three thin slices of grilled aubergine and a couple of grilled chillis.

I realise that we did visit around the festive period but if a restaurant is unable to cope then they should only allow as many diners as they are able to serve properly.

Though as I have mentioned, the waiters were trying to be as pleasant as possible, on the occassions that we did see them followed shortly thereafter by an appearance of the Yetti and a flock of dodos.

If you're dining in London then I would recommend any other Turkish restaurant (including your local kebab shop).

Sorry, Efes2. Our survey said X

Visited on 12/12/07. The waiter asked for our orders without showing the menu, and went off in a huff when we asked to see one. Service was extremely slow, we waited 20 mins for our drinks each time we ordered. Liver was served to one of the party who was vegitarian. Food arrived at different times, and the main dish was cold. Entertainment consisted of a CD playing music on repeat and a 10minute belly dance, which most in our group could not see, as the room was too big and surrounded by pillars. The belly dancer also expected a tip, even though we were made to pay more to sit downstairs. All in all, extremely poor value for money. The food at the local kebab shop is infanitely better in quality and much cheaper. Do not go here for an xmas work do.

Had our dinner there last week. Services from the waiters were average & can further be improved. One thing i noticed, the arrangement of tables were a bit too tight so one tend to get uncomfortable since the next table is just beside you.

Last night we went to efes restaurant to celebrate three birthdays there was around 20 of us... we decided to go for the menu 2 which was initialli 22pounds including cold starter, warm starter, main meal, fruit, dessert, tea or coffee... we didnt recieve either the dessert or the tea and coffee that we paid for... the waitors service was very poor, and not around when needed... the food was cold... we ordered a bottle of water and had to wait 10 minutes to find a waitor to ask for some empty glasses... the interior was quite old fashioned and the music was terribly loud which was made worse by the female singer who kept sshout singing. Having expectations of efes we thought it would be a lot better.. toilets were filthy and the man singing happy birthday was rushing to get it over and done with which wasnt very tasteful at all,,, it was unprofessional.... i will not be going ther agen... dispite having a nice time it was due to the company i was with the restaurant the music the stuck up atmosphere did nothing for me, the only good thing was probabli the bellydancer when she danced to asenas song....

I was impressed by the atmosphere at the restaurant. The food was very delicious and the service of the first class. I would definitely recommend this place my friends. The performance of the belly dancer was a very good entertainment for both gentlemen and ladies:) Keep going like that. Greetings especially to the waiting staff-mainly to TAYLAM...

Dined at EFES 2 with a party of 9 Egyptian guests and the evening was one of the highlights of their visit to London. The £20 set meal was first class and was enjoyed in the basement restaurant where the ambience is very comfortable, relaxed and friendly. The Eastern style music and the belly dancer who girated around and among the tables made the evening complete.
