Customer reviews of Battersea Rickshaw
DWhitehouse Monday, February 16, 2009 | Rating: DINERS BEWARE - Having spent many happy evenings in the Rickshaw I returned recently to be left with a very bitter taste in my mouth. The £20 bottle of wine I ordered turned out to be the most expensive in the restaurant (£125)! When querying the order the response from the (new) manager was quite frankly disgraceful, there was no apology raising suspicions on whether the mistake was genuine, no compromise was made and after the bill was settled (in full) the manager insulted both myself and my partner with some truly disgusting language. With the change of management the customer service is disgusting and the integrity is somewhat questionable. I for one will certainly steer clear.6968 |

D. Curran Monday, October 18, 2004 | Rating: One of the very best curry restaurants I've been to - the Rickshaw is off the beaten path and slightly awkward to get to (the best bet is probably a 239 bus to Battersea Square or a fairly long walk from Clapham Junction) but it really is worth the journey. The menu is far more varied and interesting than your 'average' curry menu, and the food really does put other curry houses in the shade - with prices that are surprisingly reasonable (expect about £5-8 for a main, with all side dishes at the 'usual' prices). I suppose the fact that it is so successful in an relatively obscure location says it all.2708 |
Dave Washer Wednesday, April 21, 2004 | Rating: This restaurant is near my friend's flat and we have been there several times. The food is absolutely excellent (amongst the best curries I have tasted in London - including Brick Lane), the staff are friendly and courteous and the atmosphere is relaxed and very pleasant indeed. Getting a bigger table is not a problem, even if there are only two of you dining (unlike at some other Indian restaurants) and the waiters are only too happy to recommend dishes for you if you don't know exactly what to go for. We didn't want too much ghee and the waiter's recommendation was superb and delicious. Plus, the house wine is great too - not just tasteless vinegar but delicious Chilean. On top of all that, the prices are excellent too - about £5 for a main course! Without doubt, one of the best Indian restaurants in London. Pay The Rickshaw a visit. You WON'T be disappointed.2088 |
