Hey Michael, I'm 6'3 and hit my head on airplane TVs, walkways, etc.. Should I gripe about Virgin Upper Classs not catering to my needs? You're a minority with problems- DEAL w/ IT. So sick of "you people" saying jump and building codes saying how high.

As for Nobu. It's!*!*ing awesome (duh). Beautiful design, amazing menu. Better than the Hyde park spot- for sure.

Don't ask them to carry you up the stairs though... Oh wait.. they WILL do that..

I've rated the three categories of 'food', 'service' and 'ambience' 10 out of 10 in anticipation ... because as yet, Nobu and I haven't yet come together ... stay with me ... in understanding what sits behind the two words 'getting it' and in anticipation of enjoying an evening at Nobu-Berkeley in London as part of an 'exclusive hire' [closed to the public] private fundraising event in aid of an extremely worthy cause and as a wheelchair user, in applying a little due diligence, I decided to call this venue by phone to make sure of 3 things before departing from my home; firstly, the location of any nearby disabled car parking bays, disabled bathroom facilities and accessibility not only to the bar area but also to the 1st floor. An uninspiring nonchalant 'answer' from the General Manager regarding disabled parking in the vicinity and I quote "I'm not sure how this works" kicked my enquiry off beautifully. Secondly, "we have disabled bathrooms" on the ground-floor which is where the bar is located provided a degree of confidence. Finally, "there's no access to the 1st floor" which for this special event is where dinner was being served shattered my expectations. "We could carry you up" the large spiral staircase or "we could bring dinner to you in the bar area" was the icing on the proverbial cake! Poor show Nobu! I established that Nobu's health and safety policy precluded use of the service elevator. So there you have it! Hugely disappointing from a stylish venue that ironically carries the wheelchair symbol - my advice to the GM is to take action in understanding that organisations and businesses like Nobu that provide a service should anticipate the needs of disabled people, and any access barriers their premises may have. Good information is vital to all potential customers [irrespective of having a disability or not] and that includes being able to give some guidance on simple matters such as the location of disabled car parking bays or even the ability to take dinner with ones' fellow guests on the 1st floor without having to experience the indignity of being carried up a staircase, spiral, straight or otherwise! For Nobu, there is a balance between achieving an inclusive environment and understanding the business case; in the UK alone, the total spending power of disabled people is estimated at £80 billion, representing some 10% of the UK’s annual domestic consumption ... Nobu unfortunately doesn't yet 'get it'. From a really disappointed 'still prospective' customer

I ate in Nobo Berkely on the 6th May 2006 for my birthday and it was lovely. There were 4 of us and we all had a fantastic evening. We sat at a table, but if i were in london in the day time i would queue when they open at 6pm to sit at the Sushi Bar opposite the chefs and watch them prepare the Sushi. I would rhighly ecommend this resturant to anyone who likes Sushi.
