LondonEats.com Review:

A relic of a pie and mash shop from the old market. A cool tiled interior finds regulars enjoying eels (£2.70 with mash and liquor) and pie and mash (£2.10). Enjoy! No credit cards are taken - cash only.

i just went today for the first time ever as im working in the area.
Put it this way, i can't wait for lunch time tomorrow.
The pies are amazing, very tasty and the the pastry have a perfect fresh texture to them.
Could have done with a splash more liquor, but was very satisfied.
roll on lunch!

This place looked good from outside, but inside had the ambience of a mortuary, The service was quite friendly, but the pies were like the worst fish and chip shop leftovers - the pastry horrible and the scarce filling old mincemeat. The mashed potato was lukewarm and gluey, scooped out of a plastic bucket. Horrible. (How can someone screw up making mashed potato?) Finally, the parsley liquor was absolutely tasteless and tepid.
Our cups of tea were okay. But a comically miserable experience.
