The UK's oldest surviving Indian restaurant, Veeraswamy has been a London institution since 1926. Established by the great-grandson of an English general and an Indian princess, this West End restaurant weaves an exotic spell of old-time glamour with its lofty silver-painted ceiling and jali screens. The food is a refined mix of regional Indian classics and contemporary creations, usually served to share.
The renovation of Britain's oldest Indian restaurant has won it the prestigious Time Out Best Indian Restaurant Award. It brings good, real home food of both South and North India to the West End.
